We’re looking for Civil Enforcement officers to join our parking services team. 

About the Role

Parking Services provides a range of frontline services and is responsible for the day-to-day operation, cleaning, maintenance, servicing, and repair of pay and display machinery across the district.

As a Civil Enforcement Officer, you will:

  • Work as part of a team patrolling car parks and highways in your designated area
  • Enforce parking regulations and assist the public with enquiries in a helpful and sensitive manner
  • Issue penalty charge notices using handheld computerised terminals and support with written reports
  • Report defects related to signage, street lighting, street furniture, or any other public hazard that may impact permitted parking facilities

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and would like to broaden their knowledge of North Yorkshire while being active in the community.

Shifts: Rolling Rota, averaging 4 days over 7, between 06:00am and 00:15am

Weekend working allowance: up to £30 per full day (approximately £2,000 additional per annum)

What You Will Bring

  • A customer-focused mindset with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The resilience and confidence to deal with the public tactfully
  • Flexibility, reliability, and attentiveness in your work
  • Ideally, some ability to operate computers or computerised equipment – though full training will be provided, so enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are just as valued

A full manual driving license is required to complete all aspects of the role, however we would consider a candidate who is working towards achieving this.
