Changing homes to meet changing needs.
In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local communities at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. This includes looking after our older and more vulnerable residents. We are dedicated to supporting people’s independence and wellbeing, and work hard to enable them to live in the community with dignity, choice and control. This is particularly important at the time of the pandemic, as people need to be safe, secure and supported within their own homes.
The Role:
Working alongside a team of occupational therapists and case workers, you’ll carry out surveys of people’s homes to assess major adaptations and improvements for access and safety. Taking full ownership of projects, you’ll manage and monitor them through various stages including planning, building regulations, procurement and quality control. You’ll act as contract administrator, preparing specifications, documents and risk assessments. Communication will be key: you’ll be in day-to-day contact with residents and a wide variety of different council departments and other agencies, ensuring projects are progressed at pace and to budget.
