About this opportunity

Are you an experienced teaching professional who understands the importance of quality processes to drive up standards? Do you have significant teaching or Quality Management experience in Employability, Health and Wellbeing, Art or Greener Living?

If the answer to those questions is ‘yes’; then we are looking for you!

Adult Learning delivers a wide range of learning programmes up to Level 2 for Westmorland and Furness Council and Cumberland Council. Our service operates an area based model with core teams in the 6 main localities of Barrow, Carlisle, Kendal, Penrith, Whitehaven and Workington. For this role you will need a physical Cumbria-wide presence.

Employability, Health and Wellbeing, Art and Greener are all critical curriculums for us, and so our standards are high. Our ideal candidate will have taught accredited and non-accredited programmes. They will have significant experience of quality processes such as lesson observations and file audits and understand how these tools improve service quality. A number of qualifications in this curriculum are portfolio based, so an IQA qualification or a willingness to work towards one in the first 12 months of appointment, is essential.

In return for your skills and expertise, you will join a vibrant and dynamic team, where you will make a real difference to the lives of people in Cumbria.

For more information about our service and current offerings you can look on the Adult Learning website which is  here. For an informal discussion about the role, or for any other questions, please contact Jo Collins, Area and Curriculum Manager on 07342 707090.
