We are seeking a skilled IT Professional to take on the role of Application Support Analyst within the Application Support team in ICT.

We see that the future presents a challenge to make more innovative use of ICT where possible to deliver services more efficiently by adopting new technologies to support new ways of working. The introduction of new applications across the council including the Microsoft 365 suite, Intune MDM, Canon Pres connect etc. means we need to support these systems and the business users who rely on them. The applications need to be supported, maintained, upgraded and secured while helping the business to get maximum return on the investment in the technologies.

Your core responsibilities as the successful applicant will be:

  • To support corporate application with the infrastructure resolving issues within defined SLA’s
  • Provide advice to application users across the business to enable them to make best use of the software provided to support their roles
  • Help manage the licenses relating to ICT applications and databases including Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, Oracle, Canon, etc.
  • Carry out system upgrades and configuration changes

You will be comfortable working in a busy, challenging and varied team environment, be able to multitask and handle and resolve conflicting priorities. 

You must be able to demonstrate high levels of technical skills and customer service.

You will be an excellent team player who is happy to take ownership of a problem and see it through to a successful conclusion.

You will have experience and technical skills in the following technologies:

Microsoft Windows Server

Web technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, etc)

Print flow technologies

Microsoft 365 technologies

Mobile Device Management Technology (MS Intune)

Fault Analysis and resolution

This role is suitable for job share.

The postholder will have access to secure government sites or email. In order to use these systems, the Cabinet Office requires the HR Team to carry out Baseline Personnel Standard Security (BPSS) checks.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
