Assistant Director Place

Salary – £75,000

Closing date – 9am 27/09

A space to breathe… a place to grow

These are exciting times to join the award-winning Broxbourne Borough Council.  In the next few years the Borough will see significant inward investment, including the construction of a new town centre at Brookfield Riverside, creating hundreds of new jobs.

The Borough of Broxbourne is in south eastern Hertfordshire adjacent to north London and Essex where the M25 meets the A10. Its main towns are Cheshunt, Hoddesdon and Waltham Cross. The Lee Valley Regional Park, with its attractive open spaces and modern leisure facilities, including the White-Water Canoe Centre at Waltham Cross, forms the eastern boundary. Being well-connected and ambitious for the future, Broxbourne is offering this unique opportunity to continue your career, developing your leadership and organisational management skills.

We have recently appointed a new Director of Place and now need an ambitious individual to help support the new Director in delivering our objectives for the Place Directorate as set out in our Corporate Pan, Local Plan, Economic Development Strategy and the Council’s ambitious Sustainability Strategy.  The delivery programme includes implementing our proposals for a brand-new transformative town centre for Broxbourne Borough at Brookfield Riverside through a £400m investment by the Council’s development partner.

This key role will strengthen our corporate function and support our sustainable growth, which will be front and centre of our strategic planning and future success.

You will be able to demonstrate experience in a senior management role in the public or private sector, you will also bring experience of successfully managing and delivering complex issues and have the motivation, influence and drive to support, lead and deliver on our corporate priorities.

If you want to give your ambitions the space to breathe and grow then click the apply button. For further information or contact our retained consultants at Penna, Jordan Mumford on 07729 600685 or Pete John on 07701 305617.
