An opportunity has arisen for one full time (37hrs) Business Support Officer within the Income Management and Financial Inclusion Team (IMFIT).    

Income collection is crucial to the health of the Housing Revenue Account – which funds all housing related services to Sheffield council tenants. With the roll out of Universal Credit continuing in Sheffield, the challenge of supporting tenants during a period of great change to the welfare system whilst maximising arrears recovery will get harder. The Income Management and Financial Inclusion Team are the lead players within the Housing Service recovering rent and work on financial inclusion initiatives, working in partnership with Neighbourhood Teams.    

You will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality service which supports customers to help them sustain their tenancies. We are looking for applicants with a positive approach, can do attitude and can provide a high quality, continually improving and customer driven service.    

The candidate must meet the following requirements:    

  • Essential excellent IT skills
  • Strong ability to accurately record and retrieve information
  • Adhering to deadlines
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • The ability to contribute proactively and positively to the team and service is essential

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

All successful candidates will be required to complete a Basic DBS check.
