Lord Hardy Court operates a shift system on a rota basis, this includes weekends, bank holidays, and cover is required up to 37 hours for leave and sickness. 

Lord Hardy Court provides care to 60 older people, with a range of individual needs, and Mental Health problems including Dementia and provides joint working with NHS to provide Step-up Step-down services to the community.

Applicants ideally need experience in a social care setting. And have Level 1 or Direct Care NVQ or equivalent though training is available in-house and through the council’s own programmes.

Care staff are expected to contribute to the provision of a comfortable, stimulating homely environment, that meets Essential Standards of Health and Safety and Dignity in Care Principles.  

Care Staff are also expected to contribute and develop a customer focused service that is responsive and flexible with regard to all customer needs.

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded three additional days leave (pro rata for part-time).

Confirmation of this appointment is also subject to a medical assessment.
