Have you ever considered working in Commissioning?  An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Commissioning and Procurement Team for a highly motivated individual to work as a Commissioning Officer.

This is a fixed term role until March 2026 with a focus on supporting the Market Sustainability Improvement Fund (MSIF) Better Care Fund.
Our objective is to commission services which meet the identified needs of residents, deliver improved outcomes, achieve value for money and support the Council Plan.

Who we are looking for

Commissioning is a busy team and we are looking for individuals who are highly organised, confident communicators and able to work under pressure. You don’t need a background in social care or commissioning but the successful candidates will:

  • Have knowledge and experience of managing projects
  • Be highly IT literate
  • Able to analyse and interpret data
  • Manage and develop relationships with providers
  • Work closely with Commissioning Managers

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside a range of people, both within the Council and from other agencies and key stakeholder groups. This is a real opportunity to see if a career in Commissioning is for you.
