We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a proactive individual who is happy working in a team/office environment and by themselves. 
  • Can problem solve/trouble shoot independently but ask for support where required.
  • Will provide administrative support to Sandwell’s Community Safety team who has responsibility for overseeing and co-ordinating statutory boards such as Safer Sandwell Partnership and its subgroups, Prevent, Channel and CONTEST Board, as well as Borough tasking meetings.  This will include, minute taking, meeting/events planning, collating information and reports, liaising with partners and colleagues, maintain financial records, dealing with invoices, raising orders, and support the monitoring and delivery of externally funded projects.
  • Will work closely with the Community Safety Manager and the wider Community Safety Team, to support and promote an integrated approach to community safety across the borough by co-ordinating and administrating town tasking meetings.  
  • Will work closely with the Prevent Manager and Prevent team and provide project management and other support including co-ordination of administrative functions. Responsible for convening, arranging and coordination in relation to the Contest Board, Prevent Delivery Group and Channel Panel.
  • Will act in a confidential manner regarding all information and documents received and circulated, taking account of the sensitivity of both the subject matter and the sensitivity of information to be managed in your role to the public and to the council and its partners.

Requirements:

  • Possess Numeracy and literacy Level 2 qualification or equivalent, as a minimum.
  • Experienced in using Microsoft packages: especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Current, relevant experience in the use of up-to-date systems and software.
  • Ability to co-ordinate meetings, taking minutes, sending out notes and following up actions in liaison with senior managers and partners.
  • Experience of dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information
