Are you ready to join the Wakefield Council Customer Service team?
 

We're looking for friendly and adaptable individuals who enjoy giving top quality customer service.

What will be expected from me?

In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting the community. As a frontline team member, you'll be the friendly face our customers meet first, whether it's over the phone, online, or in person.
It's more than just answering questions, it's about genuinely connecting with each person, understanding their needs, and offering the best solutions. You'll need good communication skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and an ability for prioritising deadlines.

This role might involve handling tough situations, so a compassionate approach is essential. But don't worry, we'll support you every step of the way.

The Customer Services Team are the first point of contact for the Council; handling enquiries for over 50 Council Services, including Social Care out of hours. 

You will work on a flexible basis, as a service we are open 24/7.  You will predominantly work your hours between 07:00-19:00 on a 6 weeks rota which will include some weekend working.  If your working rota includes some weekend working you are paid additional enhancements for this.

Essential requirements:

  • Great Customer Service skills
  • GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent
  • Experience of dealing with customer enquiries from a variety of access channels including on the telephone, face to face, correspondence and e-mail or social media
  • Competent in using desktop software including Microsoft Word and Excel
