As a Chief Officer, you will have overall responsibility for a £9.4million budget and a workforce of circa 87 individuals. You will lead a range of functions and services, including Legal Services, Legal advice to Council, Members and Officers, Democratic and Member Services, Elections, Electoral Registrations and Mayor's Office, as well as the Monitoring Officer role.

As part of your remit you will perform the functions of Deputy Electoral Registration Officer and Deputy Returning Officer, managing all elections that the Council has responsibility for. To apply, you will need a relevant law degree and experience of management in a political environment.

You will be able to lead on organisational improvement, with a sound track record of setting direction and inspiring teams to take the vision forward.
