Following several internal promotions, the Income Recovery team are looking to recruit one temporary, full time Income Recovery Officer to join a successful and supportive team. This post is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to progress in an exciting career within the Housing Income Service. This role is also subject to a career grading scheme allowing progression from Band F to G within two years.

The Housing Income Service is tasked with the collection of rent and reduction of arrears for our 20,000 properties throughout the borough. Income collection is vital to ensure we are able to fund all housing related services for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council tenants.

The successful candidate:

  • Does not need to have housing or a local authority background
  • Will receive a comprehensive induction plan
  • Will receive regular coaching and mentoring following induction
  • Will have access to a variety of learning and development opportunities
  • Have an ability to have challenging conversations with tenants in respect of money and have a firm but fair approach to all unpaid rent
  • Will manage their own workload in an independent working environment 
  • Will have a comprehensive benefits package – see supplementary document.

Skills needed – Analytical / negotiation / customer service / IT / problem solving / decision making / flexibility / communication / Numeracy and Literacy.

Would suit individuals from the following background: Housing / Customer Service / Welfare / Sales / Credit Control / Financial Sector / Performance Background.
