In April 2023, Wyre Council appointed a new and ambitious Chief Executive to lead the council’s next chapter and a focus on a brand new and ambitious Council Plan with a clear vision: ‘Wyre is a place where everyone can prosper’ and we are embarking on an exciting transformation programme that will help to further improve the excellent services we provide to our residents and businesses. As part of the Transformation and Change Directorate, this post will be instrumental in delivering this programme.

The Policy Officer – Data Intelligence will provide research, insight and analytical expertise for strategic planning, service delivery, external funding bids, performance and transformation programmes. This will support the council’s evidence-based approach to decision-making.

The successful candidate will be required to:

• proactively research, collate and analyse data and intelligence to inform organisational and partnership performance improvement.
• prepare high quality analytical reports, dashboards and presentations for a variety of audiences including monitoring progress of the Council Plan.
• coach and advise colleagues on best practice in utilising data, research and evidence to improve service delivery and enhance data quality.

We are looking for someone with:

• extensive experience of data analysis and intelligence in a large organisation.
• practical experience of using visualisation tools that support the presentation of data and information e.g. Power BI.
• the ability to advise on using data to understand issues and develop solutions.
• experience of using national datasets e.g. ONS, LG Inform plus, Local Insights would be beneficial.
