In April 2023, Wyre Council appointed a new and ambitious Chief Executive to lead the council’s next chapter and a focus on a brand new and ambitious Council Plan with a clear vision: ‘Wyre is a place where everyone can prosper’ and we are embarking on an exciting transformation programme that will help to further improve the excellent services we provide to our residents and businesses. As part of the Transformation and Change Directorate, this post will be instrumental in delivering this programme.

The Policy Officer – Transformation will lead service and transformation reviews to identify innovative, sustainable improvements. The post holder will also support colleagues in managing headline projects that achieve the ambitions of the Council Plan.

The successful candidate will be required to:

• conduct mapping and analysis of current services and processes, constructively challenging working practices with recommendations to redesign and improve.
• facilitate and co-design new ways of working alongside colleagues to gain buy-in and achieve the maximum benefit.
• support the Council Plan Project Managers in developing their community of practice, sharing knowledge and developing processes and skills.

We are looking for someone with:

• a track record of challenging and improving service delivery, demonstrating clear impact.
• the ability to work at pace, juggle priorities, and assimilate new information quickly and ability to make sound decision and judgements.
• the ability to use IT applications to manage and manipulate information and of researching information from a variety of sources to present it in a consistent, concise and understandable way, both orally and in writing.
• experience and/or qualification in project management would also be advantageous.
