About this opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced individual to join the Public Health Team in Cumberland Council to lead our Smoke Free 2030 Programme. Smoke Free means achieving a smoking rate which is 5% or less of our adult population. Our rate in Cumberland is currently around 13%.

This new, permanent role will suit a committed and motivated person who understands the importance of smoke free lives and homes and the impact that this can have on the health and wellbeing of our communities.

This role will be both challenging and fulfilling and the postholder will need to be able to manage the programme whilst ensuring that it is responsive and effective in order to drive the smoke free work forward, achieving quit targets and delivering outcomes.

You will have excellent engagement and communication skills, able to build relationships, work alongside and support partners whilst managing a signification budget covering both external and internal services, treatment, and preventative services.

Ideally you will have previous experience of Smoke Free/Tobacco Dependence programmes or development, initiatives, or partnerships and have knowledge and understanding of addictions work.

If this sounds like you and you would like to have an informal discussion, please contact Georgina Ternent Public Health Manager on 07825 340531
