Project Manager – Device as a Service (DaaS)

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic we have multiple opportunities available to support and help shape our response across functional areas of the Council.
This role is accountable for managing projects which make a contribution to the delivery of ECC’s strategic aims. The Project Manager is responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of projects to ensure project objectives are clearly defined and can be delivered within the agreed timelines.
As an exemplary and experienced manager familiar with working in a complex project environment this role is key in ensuring a robust project infrastructure is in place underpinned by governance and assurance processes. Influencing and working with senior stakeholders to ensure agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised.
As part of the IT strategy for Essex County Council, Technology Services are seeking to transform the way in which it provides staff with an computing approach that can enable the appetite of the Council to work in very different ways. The ability to provide devices to enable working successfully irrespective of location is a key driver for the organisation, and so there is a opportunity to provide an approach that gives Essex County Council the appropriate devices and services to support this direction of travel.
We are looking for a Project Manager who is experienced in the delivery of transformation of End User Compute Services/Computer Estate Refresh, with experience of working to procure and deploy a catalogue of devices and services that meet organisational need. The ability to plan and schedule such activities will be key, with the ability to develop successful business cases, including determining, project cost, risk and dependencies, being essential skills for this urgent piece of work.
