Use your skills to help some of the most vulnerable children in our community.

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and businesses at the heart of everything we do, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. Committed to acting with openness, honesty, compassion and humility, we aim to listen and understand in a way that is respectful, encourages involvement and meets the needs of all our communities.

The Role:

The St Quintin Centre for Disabled Children provides a wide range of services and short breaks to disabled children and their families, and when you join us in this important role, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the centre. Leading and managing a team of workers who deliver our services, you’ll also manage calendar bookings and the facilities, and support team meetings and activities both at the centre and offsite.

You’ll have a wide range of additional tasks, including overseeing Health and Safety issues relating to the running of the buildings, ensuring all Ofsted regulations are adhered to, and working on fund raising and bid writing for the centre. Your financial responsibilities will include processing and monitoring the centre’s budget, processing purchase orders and invoices, and ensuring that all systems are managed in accordance with the Council’s financial regulations. We’ll also expect you to promote our activities via social media, ensure that all parental consent forms are completed and reviewed, and investigate any issues or problems that arise.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

Energetic, charismatic and creative, you’ll have a qualification in childcare or administration (or be working towards one) and experience of working with partners in CWD, Health and Play, and alongside children and families with a SEND child. Capable of managing budgets and producing spreadsheets with costings, you’ll be a inspirational and motivating communicator, and possess good IT and internet skills, including Word, PowerPoint and clip art.

With the skills to meet tight deadlines and supervise and manage staff in an office environment, you’ll have experience of risk assessment, an understanding and commitment to Council policies in relation to equal opportunities, customer care and service delivery, and be capable of implementing these in the workplace. Our centre is an important community within our local area, and following the Grenfell tragedy it’s important that you have the ability to empathise with the people who lived through the trauma of that time. You will be expected around two weekends per month.

Join us, and you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays. And as a key member of our team, you’ll also enjoy plenty of opportunities for development and progression within our organisation.

We are committed to promoting equality and respecting diversity and welcome applications from all sections of the community. We are a Disability Confident Employer – committed to ensuring that our recruitment and selection process is inclusive and accessible.
