Are you passionate about reducing waste and promoting sustainable practices? Do you want to make a positive impact on the environment and community? We are seeking an enthusiastic Waste Engagement Strategic Lead to join our dedicated team at Westmorland and Furness Council.
As Waste Engagement Strategic Lead, you will play a key role in developing and implementing waste reduction strategies, supporting the Council’s carbon zero agenda. Reporting to the Operational Lead for Service Delivery, you will be responsible for driving initiatives and educational campaigns to encourage waste minimisation, re-use recycling, and promoting sustainable lifestyles across Westmorland and Furness Council.
Key responsibilities of the role will include developing and implementing waste reduction strategies and recycling improvements, targeting household waste. You will deliver re-use and repair projects and plan and deliver educational campaigns and workshops to raise awareness on waste minimisation and recycling.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide advice, guidance, and support on waste management and sustainable practices and assist in the development and delivery of waste management policies and procedures.
