Our Early Intervention and Prevention Team is searching for experienced candidates for the position of Family Hub Parenting Coordinator.  

What will be expected from me?

This is an exciting time to join Wakefield as we further develop our work in the Family Hubs.  You will be part of a team that opens the doors of the Hubs to the community providing a welcome, support and interventions.

The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the Early Help Offer to children and their families, adopting a whole family, strengths-based approach to reduce risk, increase resilience and improve outcomes for children.

The purpose of this role is to lead a team of staff that support the delivery of the  Reducing Parental Conflict programme and programmes for parents for families across Wakefield.

What I might be doing? 

  • You will work with partners in coordinating the day-to-day activities and programmes that support the Reducing Parental conflict offer and programmes for parents that support them to raise their family through the Family and Youth Hubs 
  • You will lead on the development of services that engage families known to be at risk of adverse outcomes
  • You will produce accurate, timely, written reports and information as required and in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • You will work alongside the Early Intervention and Prevention Partnership Manager in overseeing the delivery of programmes and interventions ensuring Ofsted requirements are met.
  • Work across the early help partnership network to deliver services and evidence-based programmes that support families, and help children have the best start in life.
  • You will ensure that services are delivered in compliance with relevant legislation, local and national policy, and guidance.

Essential requirements: 

  • Educated to degree level in a related field or holding a professional qualification recognised within youth work, family work, or targeted youth / family support, OR extensive relevant experience.
  • A substantial and current understanding of the risks and needs that families experience.
  • A thorough understanding of the principles that support and promote the wellbeing of children, young people, and families.
  • Experience of leading a team in the design and delivery of support services for children, young people, and families.
  • Experience of involving children, young people and families in the design, delivery, and review of services.
