Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Harlow Council to recruit a Mechanical Engineer on a full-time temporary basis.
Harlow is a district of contrasts and an ideal location to both live and work. The town itself is thriving, with excellent shopping and leisure facilities for all ages. We have good road links to the M11 and M25 and excellent rail connections to London and Stansted Airport, just 35 minutes and 20 minutes away from Harlow respectively.
Job Purpose:
Harlow Council is proud to be delivering on its mission to invest in housing and rebuild the town - and we're looking for a skilled and motivated Gas and Heating Engineer to join our team and help us make a real difference.
In this key role, you'll be working both on-site and, in the office, so flexibility in your approach is essential. You'll be part of a team that's committed to providing high-quality services to our residents, and we're looking for someone who shares that passion.
We're seeking a well-organised individual who can plan and manage their time effectively, and who takes pride in delivering excellent service. You'll need to bring strong technical and practical experience, along with sound knowledge of Gas, Heating, and Water legislation.
The Role:
Working as part of a very busy Housing & Property Operations team within Harlow Council, you will assist in providing an accurate and efficient assurance service for all built assets. You will specifically be responsible for site surveys, quality inspections, specifications and schedules of work, report writing and provide oversight to mechanical appliances, heating and hot water systems, their maintenance, PPM and refurbishments for Housing and Non-Housing projects.
