We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Project Officer to support the delivery of key projects within the Education Traded Services Team at Wakefield Council. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in improving services and the traded offer to schools and academies in Wakefield and beyond.

The successful candidate will work across a range of initiatives within Education Traded Services, providing high-quality project support and monitoring progress to enable successful delivery of outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects in line with education priorities.
  • Facilitate engagement with key stakeholders, including internal colleagues, partners, and schools.
  • Contribute to evaluation and continuous improvement by gathering data, analysing performance, and capturing lessons learned.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to project teams, working flexibly across multiple workstreams.

About You:

  • Experience working in a project or programme support role, ideally within a local authority or school/academy setting.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player who is also capable of working independently with initiative and problem-solving ability.

Previous knowledge of Education Traded Services or of working in Schools would be an advantage.
