An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated health inclusion professional to join our Public Health Health Protection Team. We are looking for someone with strong experience in health inclusion, previous knowledge and experience of health protection would be an advantage. This is a full-time fixed-term position or a secondment opportunity for up to two years. Although exact hours may be negotiable depending on the successful candidate appointed to the post.
This post would suit a proactive person who enjoys problem solving, managing and prioritising their own workload and can cope with competing demands. The post holder will be joining a supportive and proactive team, who value the contributions of each team member to help and ensure robust health protection arrangements are developed and maintained.
This post holder will ensure that the additional needs of communities who are vulnerable or marginalised are addressed as part of the health protection work programme and in partnership with system partners (Health, Local Government, VCS) and communities themselves.
The post holder is responsible for leading the development, implementation and coordination of health protection projects for communities and individuals particularly impacted by health protection situations and incidents. The role involves working with specific target groups in a range of settings, in partnership with local communities in particular inclusion health groups and partner organisations.
Knowledge of public health practice, health improvement/promotion, health protection and understanding of the wider determinants of health and of Primary Care, is essential. This is an innovative and dynamic role that requires someone who is able to act independently and problem solve creatively to create short and long term change in service delivery and contribute to wider service design. Knowledge of the local Wakefield District would also be an advantage for the position.
