At Oxfordshire County Council(OCC), ourSupportedTravel Service plays a vital role in keeping communities across the countyconnected,independentand involved.Every day, a dedicated team of around 200 staff members supports the journeys and travel of approximately 10,000 residents, using a blend of more than 70 in-house fleet vehicles and over 800 contracted vehicles.The service arranges and delivers a wide range of safe,efficientand reliable travel solutions, includinghometo-school and SEND transport,independenttravel training, personal travel budgets, community and public transport schemes, and essential journeys for children’s and adults’ social care.

• Empower young people by guiding them in developing real-world travel skills—giving them the confidence to move forwardindependently.
• Design and deliver tailored learning programmes that reflect each person’s unique needs,strengthsand aspirations.

Could this be you?

What You'll Bring

• Experience working with children and adults with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability.
• Experience of working with children and young adults in a formal setting.This will include the need to deal with and communicate with service users who have learning difficulties and complex special needs.
• Experience in conductingindividualassessments and risk evaluations.
• Strong communicationskills, including the ability to engage with families, professionals, and young people.
• Ability to workindependently, manage own caseload, andrespondflexibly to changing circumstances.
• Experience designing training and learning events, as well as facilitation and delivery.
• Level 4 NVQ Qualification in Social Care, Health, Education, Children and Youth Work, Probation or Criminal Justice or significant equivalent experience.
