Luton Council is an ambitious council and as officers we are dedicated to delivering the core objectives of Jobs, Homes, Safety and the Local Environment for our residents. We are committed to procurement and have recently invested in a new structure to focus on category management, improved supplier relationship management and increased focus on policy delivery and Social Value and Responsible Procurement.

You will have applied procurement and contract legal knowledge in the delivery of contract performance, savings and cost avoidance across different categories. You will have established productive relationships with contract managers, senior stakeholders and suppliers to successfully reach outcomes that are achievable and broadly acceptable to all parties.
You will have line managed staff, providing leadership, support and development to maximise the effectiveness of your team and contribute to wider organisation objectives. You will be an effective communicator with experience of developing and delivering complex reports into senior management with the ability to verbally present and deal with any questions arising.
