We are seeking an experienced and motivated Short Break Worker to join our team in our Outreach Service to provide exceptional care and support for children and young people to access social and leisure opportunities. This is a brilliant opportunity for an individual who is looking to contribute to a service that transforms lives.
As a Short Break Worker, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day running of the service in ensuring the highest standards of care. You ensure the delivery of person-centred care and provide a wide range of opportunities for our young people at our community base or out in the community. To be successful in this role, you will need to be a dedicated and resilient professional who thrives in a challenging but highly rewarding environment.
This post requires an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with good communication skills. You will need to be organised and confident in interactions with children and young people. It is essential that you are kind, caring, patient, resilient and can see the need behind behaviours. You should be committed to improving the life chances of the children and young people and share our ethos of providing fun, opportunities and independence for our young people.
You will already hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent as determined by Children's Homes Regulations) or be willing to work to achieve this qualification following appointment within two years.
Effective Induction, supervision, and training will be provided to all staff.
The work involves shift patterns, including weekends and evenings non term time and during the day in the school holidays.
