An opportunity has arisen to join the Adult Social Care team in Legal Services as a Professional Officer on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave until November 2025.
This is a busy but friendly team who deal with legal aspects of the Local Authority's Adult Social Care responsibilities.
The Adult Social Care team operates in a fast-paced environment, dealing with a wide range of adult social care law cases, including matters relating to the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Court of Protection.
The Professional Officers support the lawyers by helping prepare applications to Court and running cases once underway, and assisting in the provision of advice and guidance in this fast paced and interesting area of the law.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
