The Road Safety Team are keen to recruit additional Casual Bikeability Instructors to join our team of instructors delivering Bikeability cycle training, in line with the National Standard model, to school children throughout the County Durham area.  This is a term-time role.

WHAT IS INVOLVED? 
You will be working with and encouraging children to be safer and confident cyclists so good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

The remit also extends to carrying out other cycle training activities as required as part of the scheme.

The training generally takes place in schools during school hours, however some work within the community may also be required.

WHAT WILL I NEED? 

  • You will be a regular cyclist and have good road sense with experience of working with children. The ability to handle problems positively and appropriately and punctuality are also essential.
  • You will have a good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent including English.
  • Due to the requirements of the post and travel within the County Durham area, access to a transport or means of mobility support is essential.

If successful, you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.
