Matcham's is our in-house catering team here at Harrogate Convention Centre. We pride ourselves on quality produce and impeccable service and focus on supporting local suppliers and producers from the North of England, Yorkshire, and Harrogate. We cater to a variety of events and provide a range of services from a tea and coffee service to full-blown celebratory banquets.

The role

As a Casual Catering Assistant at Harrogate Convention Centre, you will be part of a team working in various aspects of the front-line operation. You will be customer focused, ensuring a high standard of customer service is upheld at all times. This role will include shift work, so a flexible approach is required. Matcham’s is a 7-day operation, so weekend shifts are available.

Duties and responsibilities

• Serving of food, beverages and alcoholic drinks.
• Ensure that sales opportunities are maximised by effective selling all services
• Ensure the effective setting up of rooms and equipment, preparing room layouts to the requirements of the customer.

What you will bring

We are seeking motivated individuals that can demonstrate adaptability to be able to work across various aspects of the front-line operation.

You will ideally: 

• Be able to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Have experience of working as part of a team as well as on your own initiative
