We are looking for a suitably experienced, enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead our countryside & ecology team in order to provide high quality Country parks and nature reserves as well as providing ecological services to the Council and developers through our in-house ecologists and Biological Records Centre, giving excellent customer service for residents and customers. The role comes with plenty of variety and is a great opportunity to gain a wide range of experience and job satisfaction whilst managing a diverse team.

As a member of the Green Spaces Management Team, this role will support the Councils Green Spaces Manager, to deliver a wide range of customer facing services across our country parks, nature reserves, woodlands and other natural sites. You will need to be analytical and innovative bringing new ideas to improve the service we provide for residents and visitors to our parks, making best use of  budgets and staffing resources under your control. You will have a flexible approach to managing your own workload as well as the workload of your team; you will be able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as the wider Green Spaces team.

This challenging but ultimately rewarding role needs a natural communicator, both verbally and in writing, who can build positive relationships with stakeholders, has the confidence to communicate both formally and informally with diplomacy and patience. The role requires someone who can multi-task, prioritise and react appropriately when under pressure.
