We are passionate about Doncaster - it’s a great place to live, do business and visit.

We have plenty to shout about – Doncaster is the UK’s best connected location, we have many major developments in the pipeline, a vibrant urban centre with a thriving arts and cultural scene, sport and leisure attractions, wonderful green spaces and a fascinating heritage.  We firmly believe, as do our partners, that Doncaster is the place to be with a bright future and ambitions ahead of it.  But don’t just take our word for it – anyone joining the council, can look forward to expanding their knowledge and skills in a dynamic, creative and nurturing environment while truly making a difference to the communities we serve.

An experienced Domestic Abuse Advisor is required to join our busy Domestic Abuse Team which works tirelessly to support victims of domestic abuse across Doncaster.  The team consists of Domestic Abuse Caseworkers who provide outreach support to help people out of abusive relationships and to rebuild their lives.  The Team also includes Independent Domestic Violence Advocates and administration assistants responsible for coordination and administration of the Doncaster Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC).  The team also deliver training and awareness campaigns and coordinate Domestic Homicide Reviews.

The Domestic Abuse Advisor will be responsible for taking calls from victims of domestic abuse and practitioners, providing information and advice, initial risk assessment and referral into the most appropriate services.  The Domestic Abuse Advisor will work closely with a number of partner agencies to monitor capacity and ensure the right support is accessed by the victim.

Further details about the responsibilities and requirements of the role are contained in the job profile and role summary.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we can offer you the chance to be part of a great team dedicated to ensuring that all people in Doncaster thrive. You will also have access to a variety of attractive employee benefits including competitive leave entitlement, local government pension scheme and access to a range of staff discount and flexible benefits schemes.
