Are you ready to influence change and improve outcomes for children and their families?
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Early Help Consultant to join North Yorkshire Council Early Help Team and play a pivotal role in shaping support for children, young people, and families across the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale areas.
This is more than just a job—it's an opportunity to lead, influence, and make a lasting impact by ensuring families receive the “right support, at the right time, from the right people”. As an Early Help Consultant, you’ll be at the heart of multi-agency working—connecting schools, early years providers, community organisations, and partner agencies to drive the effective support for children and their families.
You will:
· Champion early intervention and prevention
· Influence practice across services and partners
· Support professionals to identify and meet families’ needs effectively
· Use data and insight to inform decision-making and improve outcomes
· Play a key role both operationally and strategically within the locality
What we’re looking for:
We want someone who brings energy, expertise, and a collaborative mindset. Ideally, you will have:
· Experience working across multi-agency partnerships
· A background in schools, early years, or community settings
· Strong understanding of safeguarding thresholds
· Experience supporting vulnerable children and families
· The ability to influence practice and contribute to strategy
· A relevant degree or equivalent qualification
Why join us?
Based at either Briercliffe or Ryedale Children and Families Hub, you’ll be part of a supportive and dedicated Children & Families Service - Early Help Team, working together to deliver meaningful interventions and improve lives across the community.
It is an exciting time in Children and Young Peoples Services in North Yorkshire as we plan our approach in respect of the Families First Partnership Programme and how we will be responding to the social care reforms. Work is underway to plan our approach and implementations for 2027. As a result of this, some realignment may happen with job roles in the future, we want to be transparent about this in respect of this role.
