This is an exciting time to be joining Hertfordshire County Council, where you will be at the heart of a strategic leadership team setting the blueprint for the future of public services in our great county.

With Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) on the horizon and new unitary councils to be in place in 2028, you will have the privilege of helping to create the structure of public services in Hertfordshire for the next 50 to 100 years. Your leadership skills will be essential to the organisation and your professional knowledge central to shaping the future of adult social care services whatever new structure is agreed.

As our new Executive Director of Adult Care Services, you will take over one of the highest performing social care teams in the country, embracing the opportunity to build on our strong foundations whilst driving forward our innovative and market leading approach. There are challenges ahead, and we will need you to help us navigate the outcomes of the fair funding review, as well as supporting and preparing the organisation for LGR so that we can transfer seamlessly into the future, without compromising the quality of our services. Equality, diversity and inclusion are a hugely important priority for us, and you will play a critical role in ensuring that we put residents first, securing fairness and equity for our service users as well as our teams that support them.

You will be an experienced leader with a track record of strategic thinking, able to make a significant contribution to the corporate leadership of Hertfordshire County Council, whilst leading and motivating our exceptional team of adult social care professionals.
