Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are passionate about enabling our communities to be more sustainable, resilient and to thrive.

Harnessing your imagination and innovation to deliver positive impacts to the lives of our citizens now and into the future is at the heart of who we are and what we do; and made us UK Council of the Year 2024 (iESE Public Sector Transformation Awards).

Do you share our values, culture and ambition…

Are you an effective leader with a passion for climate action and nature recovery? Do you have the vision and expertise to drive environmental sustainability across two districts?

We are looking for a dynamic and influential Head of Climate and Nature Recovery to shape the future of our organisations and our places.

We have already taken pioneering action to cut carbon emissions and enhance our environment, but we urgently need to go much further. This new, high-profile role within our councils will be responsible for helping define and deliver how we address the climate and biodiversity crises.

Working closely with senior leaders, our political administrations, internal and external stakeholders, and local communities, you will lead transformative projects and initiatives that address the climate emergency, enhance biodiversity, and support nature recovery for future generations.
