An excellent opportunity has arisen to progress your engineering career as a career-graded Highway Development Management Engineer within the Highways Development Management Team, where strong technical problem-solving and communication skills are highly valued.
 
WHAT IS INVOLVED?

  • You will provide road safety, highway, traffic and transport advice and comment on development proposals within the County. As well as advise the public, Members, Parish Councils, developers and their agents regarding planning applications and general enquiries.
  • You will represent the Department at multi-agency meetings to ensure highways/traffic implications are considered
  • Investigate and respond to planning applications and general enquiries to meet deadlines as well as preparing written reports and supporting senior officers at planning Committees, appeals, hearings and public inquiries.

This is a career graded role and therefore the duties and responsibilities will differ depending on your qualifications and experience.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
 
You should be working towards, or hold a Degree or Incorporated Engineer in civil engineering, transport planning, transport modelling, town planning, or related subject.
