Lunchtime Supervisor
Grade 1, £24,796 pro rata
Permanent, Part time, Term time – 6.25 hours per week
Monday-Friday 12.00pm-1.15pm

Do you love working with children or are interested in a career working with children?   Why not join us at Delves Lane Primary School!  We have a lunchtime supervisor vacancy, and are looking for kind and caring individuals, to join our fantastic team!

The Governors of our inclusive, successful and welcoming school seek to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor to commence as soon as possible.  
The successful candidates must be cheerful and caring, who will work successfully with our hard-working and dedicated teams to provide pupils with a safe and happy lunchtime.  We have OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) and we are promoting outdoor play in all weathers.  Ranulph Fiennes quotes, “There is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.”

Duties will include:
• The care and supervision of pupils during the lunch break in the dining hall and outside areas
• Encouraging good behaviour, table manners and turn taking
• Clearing up all spillages promptly, and wiping of tables and chairs at the end of the meal
• Initiate games and activities whilst maintaining supervision of a zone
• Assist with tidying the site at the end of each lunchtime
• Providing First Aid where appropriate

Interviews will take place on the afternoon of Thursday 26th March 2026 (PM).  Shortlisted applicants must be available for interview on this date.

Please note that the Childcare Disqualifications Regulations 2009 apply to this position and therefore you are required to complete the “disqualification by association” declaration form.  Should you be successful in your application for this post, your appointment cannot be progressed without this declaration.

We have an excellent induction for new staff.  

Please note that candidates will partake in staff training and briefings regularly where overtime will be paid.

The post is to start as soon as possible.  We hope candidates are able to start with us from later in March or early April 2026 

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure.  You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
