Nursery Teacher
MPS(3-6) to UPS(1-3)- £37,101- £51,048
Temporary contract until 31st August 2027
Required to start September 1st 2026 or as soon as possible after pending DBS clearance.
 
The Headteacher and Governors of this Outstanding Maintained Nursery School are seeking to appoint a hardworking, efficient and highly motivated teacher who has a proven record of outstanding teaching. Initially, this is for a one-year temporary contract covering the current post holder.
 
Seaham Harbour Nursery School is a friendly, supportive and inclusive environment for the whole school community where everyone is respected and valued.
 
We require, for September 2026 (or as soon after as possible), a teacher to join our dedicated, hardworking team who puts the needs of our children a the forefront of their practice.
 
The successful candidate will become part of a supportive team and deicated staff who have high expectations and demonstrate a caring, nurturing attitude towards our young children’s academic, social and personal development.
 
The successful candidate will:

Be an excellent classroom practitioner with recent, effective and successful teaching experience working with EYFS/KeyStage 1 children
Have a strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
Have high expectations of children’s achievement and progress
Have the ability to adapt teaching to the needs of all children including those with SEND and those who are more able
Be someone who can lead a team of strong Early Years Practitioners
Be someone who is able to contribute effectively to the leadership team
Be someone who can work as part of a team and foster positive realtionships with staff, children, parents and governors
Be prepared to make a valuable contribution to Seaham Harbour Nursery School with a desire to be involved in all aspects of school life
Have excellent and effective communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal and organisational skills
Be someone who will lead by example
Have a clear willingness to respond to and act upon advice following constructive, professional dialogue

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post
