The Durham Safeguarding Adults Partnership works in partnership to safeguard and promote the well-being of adults in its area and to prevent and protect adults at risk of or experiencing abuse or neglect.

The role of the Partnership Review Officer offers an opportunity to join the DSAP Business Unit and to support the board with its statutory responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding Adult Reviews under Section 44 of the Care Act 2014 and the Safe Durham Partnership with Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

The work will involve supporting the delivery of safeguarding adult reviews and domestic abuse related death reviews in a timely manner. It requires the postholder to liaise with a wide range of agencies, partners and stakeholders to discharge functions related to reviews.  The role requires effective management of the administration systems relating to respective reviews, including the use of various software packages. This is an essential requirement for the timeliness and successful completion of reviews.

The successful candidate will be joining a small, dedicated team that supports the work of the adult partnership.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

You will have a good understanding of the safeguarding adults and domestic abuse agenda and demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills. You will be committed to promoting the voice of adults, carers and advocates as well as practitioners. You will be responsible for supporting the coordination and administrative process for both safeguarding adults and domestic abuse related reviews and as such will have the ability to prioritise, organise and manage a workload.

The successful candidate will be responsible for making arrangements for meetings, agenda setting, minute taking and follow up actions including organising multi-agency events. Undertaking project and administrative tasks as required, including research, planning, preparation and presentation of information to a range of agencies and management levels and supporting the business unit, DSAP Independent Chair, Panel Chairs and Authors as appropriate.
 
The successful candidate will hold responsibility for maintaining effective communicative links between the Safeguarding Adults Partnership, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Executive Group and Safe Durham Partnership. It includes, statutory and relevant partners including the local authority, health, and police. Reporting to the DSAP Business Manager, Strategic Managers, Panel Chairs and the DSAP Independent Chair.
 
Required Qualifications: NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration or relevant subject area or substantial experience or BTEC Higher in Public Administration or equivalent/ substantial experience.
