Job Title: Programme & Partnerships Manager, Richmond Arts Service

Salary Range: PO3 

Contract: Permanent, Full Time 

Location: London Borough of Richmond upon Thames

About the role 

 Richmond Arts Service aims to build community through creativity. We foster creativity and enjoyment of the arts, enabling people to reflect on their lives and develop new ways of seeing the world. We bring experimental art to the borough and cultivate a network of individuals, organisations, and programmes that nourishes the arts, local organisations, and communities.  

Richmond Arts Service provides strategic thinking and leadership for the local authority ensuring that local people benefit from a vibrant, engaging, and ambitious arts ecology. 

Richmond Arts Service delivers a diverse and thought-provoking public programme in partnership with artists and communities, including international festivals, arts sector development, and creative learning partnerships. One example is Cultural Reforesting, an ambitious arts programme which is instigating community-led adaptations to the ecological crisis across the borough. We are commissioning artists through on-going research, multi-disciplinary projects, participatory events, and artworks, working with cultural and science partners as well as service across the council.

The role also oversees the public programme at Orleans House Gallery. Recent projects have included working with artists Himali Singh SoinDexter McLeanSomething & Son, and Phoebe Boswell, as well as with creative practitioners living and working within the borough. 

The Programme & Partnerships Manager is pivotal to the success of the service. You will build strong local, national, and international partnerships and lead the team that is responsible for the creation and delivery of the programme. 

To do this well you will need to know about current best practice in cultural development and creative programming, and how to use evidence to deepen and broaden engagement. You will also need to know how to get the best out of creative teams as well as understanding key issues relating to procuring, commissioning, contracting, and partnership working. 

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience 
 

Management Skills- You will have experience of managing innovative and complex public-facing creative programmes, with multiple partners 

Collaborative working- You will have experience of working with senior leaders and /or politicians, including the management of ‘political’ and sensitive matters 

Leadership skills – You can effectively manage and lead teams in a fast-moving dynamic environment 

· Audience Planning- You will have experience with audience development including the diversification of audiences and strategic planning around Marketing & Communications 

Financial Management- You will have financial experience including income generation from trusts and other sources · 

Planning- You will have the ability to forward plan and manage relevant risk processes for assets and services · 

Negotiation Skills- Do you have the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of individuals
