The Directorate of Communities & Environment prides itself on the service it provides to the residents of Royal Greenwich. We have a 2 year secondment opportunity available in our Fleet and Waste Strategy team. We are looking to recruit someone with commitment and drive who will work hard to help the Royal Borough maintain its reputation for excellent Waste, Street Cleansing and Enviro-crime Enforcement services.

You will manage the delivery of some exciting and complex Fleet and Waste Services and Street Services projects and lead on the development of various service change and improvement projects.

You will be taking a leading role in assisting the Council to progress in line with national and regional environmental strategies, and to achieve its strategic environmental ambitions. As the Council seeks to take action on the climate emergency during a period of a tightening public purse, you will be at the forefront of changing how the Council delivers its services in the most efficient way.

You will need to have significant knowledge and experience in waste management and working knowledge of project management methods, such as Prince2.

Excellent organisational management skills and the ability to make full use of a range of IT systems are essential. The post will involve managing the project budget and monitoring expenditure, funding, and income against the benefits as the project progresses. Your duties will also include leading project management meetings and working closely with colleagues in the services and with wider stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to work and a great attention to detail.
