An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join the Digital Programme and Communities team.
If you have extensive experience in leading and managing significant software implementation and digital transformation projects, we would like to hear from you.
You will initially support the delivery of Durham County Council’s emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy and related programme of work. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking team helping to shape the responsible, safe and ethical use of AI across the council. Experience of this field may be advantageous.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
As a project manager you will work within the Digital Project Management Office (PMO) and have responsibility for leading and managing projects, through the Digital PMO process and governance.
We currently have an ambitious digital programme of work, including core system replacements, and you will be required to work on multiple projects at any one time.
If you are customer focused with strong leadership, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, with an enthusiasm to put customers at the heart of what we do, then we would like to hear from you.
We encourage you to contact Alli Walker via email at alli.walker@durham.gov.uk to arrange an informal discussion about the role.
WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a related discipline and ideally have a Project Management qualification.
You should have significant experience of managing multiple complex projects through the end-to-end process, and leading on large scale digital transformation. You will also have experience of managing both capital and revenue budgets.
This is a cross functional role in the Authority therefore strong communication and relationship building skills with service stakeholders are essential. The environment is fast paced and you will need to be a passionate and energetic individual with a proactive approach who can multi-task and work well under pressure.
You will be leading and managing a wide range of projects, both large and small, as well as managing tasks as briefed. You will act as an interface for the service providing professional advice on all aspects of the projects, ensuring efficiency whilst building great relationships. You may also be given line management responsibilities.
Please refer to the attached person specification for the full criteria.
