The Council has bold ambitions for Sheffield and the Council has commenced an exciting period of transformation.  The Regeneration and Property Team are working on creating new neighbourhoods including residential and commercial, leisure and cultural development.                

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Property Technician to expand the capacity of its current commercial estate team and contribute to the pivotal role of the service, shaping the city by creating and delivering prestigious and exciting initiatives.      

As a Property Technician with Sheffield City Council you will undertake a variety of tasks.  Your day-to-day role will be to support a multi-skilled team by;                      

  • Producing land ownership plans and schedules utilising data from the Council’s GIS system and Land Registry.                         
  • Using Computer Aided Design (CAD) to produce Land Registry compliant plans for legal transactions.                      
  • Collate, interpret and analyse data for use in valuations of land and property for a variety of purposes such as acquisitions and disposals, residential sales under the Right to Buy legislation, acquisitions for the Councils Housing Stock Increase Programme and for accounting purposes.               
  • Undertaking research and providing information to update and improve the Council’s asset data records management system.             

You will also contribute to the efficient operation of the Council’s commercial estate, dealing with requests for landlord’s consents, new lettings, rent reviews, debt recovery and inspections to ensure tenant compliance with lease/tenancy terms.       

As important as your technical skills will be your customer focus, willingness to collaborate and ability to communicate effectively with property developers and investors, senior officers, elected Council Members and the public. Regularly dealing with customer enquiries you will also provide advice and information to quickly resolve any issues.
