The site below requires a School Crossing Patroller, sometimes called "lollipop" men or women, to help children cross the road on their way to and from school during term time.
Northcote Road junction with Honeywell Road
Site times are 08:30 - 09:30 and 14:55 – 1605. A total of 10 hours per week.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
An understanding of Road Safety issues and an appreciation of children’s welfare.
Have a record of reliability and good timekeeping.
Ability to show patience and tact.
Ability to work split shifts and in adverse weather conditions.
To have good eyesight and hearing.
Ensures children’s safety while using crossing.
To wear issued protective clothing and carry official sign whilst on patrol.
Good time keeping and reliability is essential for the safety of children wishing to cross the road at designated patrol sites.
Patrollers must arrive in good time to commence patrol duties and must remain at the patrol until the end of the patrol duty.
To be fully aware of and understand the duties and responsibilities arising from the Children Act 2004 and Working Together in relation to child protection and safeguarding children and young people as this applies to your role within the Council. To also be fully aware of the principles of safeguarding as they apply to vulnerable adults in relation to your work role.
