Job Introduction

The Royal Greenwich Educational Psychology & Wellbeing Service (EPWS) is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a reflective, innovative and strategic Senior Educational Psychologist to join our hard-working, friendly and ambitious team as Expert at Hand Lead. This is a key leadership role within the service, offering the opportunity to shape, develop and evaluate one of our flagship early intervention and inclusion offers, while contributing to the wider strategic leadership of the EPWS.

As a Senior Educational Psychologist, you will be part of the service management team, contributing to the strategic planning, leadership and development of the EPWS. You will provide line management, clinical supervision and professional support to Educational Psychologists, Assistant Educational Psychologists and Trainee Educational Psychologists, while maintaining a reduced caseload that reflects your senior leadership responsibilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Educational Psychologist who enjoys supporting the development of colleagues through supervision, coaching and leadership, and who is keen to influence service development at both operational and strategic levels.

A central aspect of this role will be providing strategic and operational leadership for the Expert at Hand offer. You will lead the ongoing development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the model, ensuring that schools, settings, children, young people and families receive high-quality, evidence-informed psychological support. Working collaboratively with schools, council services and wider partners, you will ensure that Expert at Hand continues to evolve in response to local need and delivers positive outcomes for children and young people.

The successful candidate will:

• Lead and coordinate the delivery, quality assurance and continuous improvement of the Expert at Hand offer.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, settings, council services and partner agencies to support effective implementation of Expert at Hand.
• Support the professional development and deployment of Educational Psychologists and Assistant Educational Psychologists delivering the Expert at Hand programme.
• Lead the monitoring and evaluation of the Expert at Hand offer, using stakeholder feedback and impact data to inform ongoing development and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to service strategy, policy development and service transformation in response to emerging local and national priorities.
• Lead on identified service development priorities and represent the EPWS within local authority and multi-agency forums.
• Promote anti-racist, anti-discriminatory and culturally responsive practice across all aspects of service delivery.

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will continue to undertake a range of educational psychology activities, including consultation, assessment, therapeutic and intervention work, workforce development, statutory duties and support for children and young people with complex needs.

The EPWS offers a highly valued traded service to a range of schools, early years settings, post-16 and alternative providers, and prides itself on the effective working relationships developed with service users. Salary: Soulbury Scale B5 – B8 (£65,929 - £69957) plus Inner London allowance (£3940) and up to 3 SPA points (salary package currently under review)
