Objective of Role

Are you an experienced Social Worker ready to take on a senior role where yourexpertise, professional judgement and leadership truly make an impact? As a Senior Social Worker within the Richmond & Barnes Social Care Team, you will play a key role in supporting adults to maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life. You will work with residents aged 18+ who have physical disabilities, long-term conditions and a range of physical and mental health needs, ensuring they receive personalised, strengths-based support. You will lead on complex casework, provide professional guidance to colleagues and contribute to the continued development of high-quality adult social care services.

About the Role

Richmond and Wandsworth Councils are seeking a skilled Senior Social Worker to join the Richmond & Barnes Social Care Team. This opportunity will enable you to manage complex cases, provide professionaloversight and contribute to outstanding adult social care practice.

About the Team: The team consists of Social Workers and Social Care Assessors co-located with District Nurses and Community Matrons to deliver integrated, multidisciplinarysupport. Based in East Sheen, the team works closely with local partners to provide holistic and personalised services.

Responsibilities:
•Lead complex assessments, care planning, risk management and safeguarding interventions.
• Work collaboratively with residents, carers and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Apply the Care Act 2014 and relevant legislation.
• Manage care planning budgets effectively.
• Provide supervision and quality assurance to colleagues.
• Model high-quality practice and contribute to team leadership.

Essential Qualifications,Skillsand Experience

1.Recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
2. Significant post-qualification experience within Adult Social Care.
3. Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, safeguarding and statutory guidance.
4. Ability to undertake complex assessments, manage risk and make sound professional decisions.
5. Experience providing professional supervision andsupport to colleagues.
6. Excellent communication, partnership working and relationship-building skills.
