Hi there, my name is Catherine your potential Team Manager, WELCOME and thanks for looking. Let me try and tempt you into joining our team.
We are searching high and low, in the dales and moors for a Social Worker (grade 8-9 pay scale) to work within our social care/health integrated mental health team based at Baghill house in Pontefract.
We are sorry to lose one of our wonderful team colleagues, but they are moving on to develop their skills in a more health focused role
If you want to work for possibly the best social work mental health team in the UK we could be for you. We work with a range of wonderful clients aged between 18-65 who have a diagnosed mental health condition and support them with their goals, wants and needs in a Care Act focussed way to help them to become more independent and participate in the community in which they live. As a team we have a can do, positive attitude and if this is what you are looking for then we could be for you.
Every day is different with a new puzzle to solve from undertaking a Care Act Assessment to preparing reports, from attending court or working with health colleagues or supporting carers and family members - we need to be organised and prepared to support our residents, at times this takes a long time building rapport and trust, at others we need to move quickly responding to unfolding and fast moving situations.
If you are joining our team as a Newly Qualified Social Worker, you will be supported to undertake the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme.
We want to invite you to be part of Wakefield transformational changes in social work within secondary mental health services.
As a Social Worker, your values, knowledge and skills will be pivotal in promoting wellbeing and improving the outcomes for individuals with mental health conditions and you will work in equal partnership with colleagues from Southwest Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust.
You will have experience working with people who have mental health needs, have excellent assessment and communication skills, along with an understanding of legislation particularly the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act 1983. As part of your role, you will undertake planned interventions, complete Care Act conversation-style assessments, strength-based reviews, and develop person-centred and outcome-focussed care and support plans. As a Social Worker in the Core teams, you will have support from day one to learn, develop new skills and progress in your career.
