Make a real difference to children and families

Following significant growth and investment in Gloucestershire Children’s Services, we are creating the new position of Team Leader (Specialist Intervention). In Gloucestershire we are passionate about ensuring we continue to build resilient, diverse multi-disciplinary teams as we implement the Department for Education's Families First Partnership Programme (FFPP) reforms.

Our new Intensive Intervention Teams bring together specialist practitioners working as a part of that local community’s Family Help service providing specialist interventions to families focused on addressing issues that can lead to family breakdown and children coming into care.

About the role

As Team Leader you will supervise a multi-disciplinary team of practitioners including: Parenting Practitioners, Intensive Edge of Care Family Support Workers, Family Group Decision Making Practitioners, and linked partner agencies such as adult employment practitioners, mental health specialists and substance misuse professionals.

You will be responsible for the operational oversight, quality assurance and continuous development of your service area. You will provide day-to-day leadership, high-quality supervision and professional support to staff, ensuring children and families receive responsive, timely and effective interventions that improve outcomes and build resilience.

You will use your specialist expertise to lead triage, formulation, advice and guidance, supporting practitioners to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed practice. Working closely with colleagues across children's services, education, health, social care and partner agencies, you will help coordinate support around families and promote joined-up approaches to meeting need.

As a leader, you will champion excellent practice, support professional development and create a culture of learning, reflection and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards, ensuring services are delivered in line with legislation, statutory guidance and Gloucestershire's ambition to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and families.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be there at the start of our journey in embedding evidence-based interventions within Gloucestershire new Family Help model.

We have roles based across the county:

    • Tewkesbury
    • Cotswolds
    • Stroud
    • Forest of Dean
